Find out how your plant ranks against others nearby
Only peer comparison can tell you if a loss of generation is because of the weather or your plant.
Generation Score: The Comparison Metric
We turn your plant's raw data into one number, so plants of different sizes can be compared with each other.
65Very Low
Your Generation Score is calculated at the end of every month.
Every Plant. Three Ranks.
For every plant, SGC works out three types of rank:
A rank only counts if the data behind it is real.
Every ranked plant carries a blue tick. It means that month's generation numbers were either synced automatically from a connected inverter, or matched against an uploaded bill the same way a payment is verified.
A month with unverified data does not get ranked. Not hidden. Excluded.
- Connected inverter: verified automatically, every day.
- Uploaded bill: verified the moment it matches your plant's records.
- No self-reported scores. No shortcuts.
Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about the Generation Score, rankings, and Championship rules.
What is the Solabrix Generation Championship (SGC)?
The Solabrix Generation Championship is Pune’s city-wide rooftop solar performance ranking.
It benchmarks rooftop solar plants against nearby peers using actual generation data. Instead of looking at numbers in isolation, SGC ranks plants across size tiers, neighborhoods, and the entire city so owners can see how their systems genuinely perform relative to the local benchmark.
Why does peer comparison matter? Isn't my inverter dashboard enough?
Because only peer comparison can tell you if a drop in output is caused by the weather or your plant.
If your inverter shows a 25% drop in generation this month, you don't know whether it was caused by cloud cover across Pune or a failing string inverter and heavy soiling on your roof. When you compare against neighboring rooftops experiencing the exact same sunlight and weather, the answer becomes obvious immediately.
How is the Generation Score calculated?
By converting raw generation into a single normalized number:
- Raw Generation: We take your monthly units generated and your plant's installed DC capacity (e.g., 403 units generated by a 5 kW plant over 31 days).
- Normalization: We calculate daily specific yield:
Units ÷ kW capacity ÷ Days(in this case, 2.6 units/kW/day). - Standardized Score: We index this against an optimal standard where 4.0 units/kW/day = a score of 100. A plant generating 2.6 units/kW/day receives a Generation Score of 65.
Can a small home rooftop compete fairly against a large commercial plant?
Yes. Because the Generation Score measures generation per kilowatt of capacity per day, size advantages disappear.
A 3 kW bungalow rooftop that is well-maintained and dust-free can easily achieve a Generation Score of 115 and outperform an unmaintained 100 kW factory rooftop scoring 75. Fairness is built directly into the mathematical formula.
What are the three types of ranks every plant receives?
For every calendar month, your plant receives three distinct rankings:
- Segment Rank: Compares your plant against plants in the same size tier and the same area (e.g., 3–7 kW systems in Kothrud).
- Area Rank: Compares your plant against all plants of any size in your same area (e.g., all rooftops in Kothrud).
- City Rank: Compares your plant against all competing plants across all of Pune.
What do the 8 Generation Score verdicts mean?
Every Generation Score dial is mapped to one of eight color-coded health verdicts:
- Critical & Very Low: Severe equipment fault, prolonged inverter trip, or extreme shading.
- Low & Underperforming: Noticeable generation deficit, often caused by heavy soiling, poor orientation, or string failure.
- Near Target & On Target: Healthy system performing close to expected regional generation.
- Above Target & Peak: Exceptional generation, indicating optimal tilt, zero shading, and pristine module maintenance.
What does the Verified Blue Tick mean?
A rank only counts if the data behind it is authentic.
Every ranked plant on the SGC leaderboard carries a blue verification tick. This confirms the month's numbers were either synced automatically from a connected inverter or verified against an uploaded MSEDCL utility bill. Self-reported, unverified figures are not just flagged—they are completely excluded from the leaderboard.
How do I get my generation data into the Championship?
There are two ways:
- Live Inverter Sync: If your inverter is a supported brand, connect it once and your daily generation syncs automatically in the background.
- Manual Bill / Meter Entry: If you have an unsupported inverter, simply enter the generation units from your monthly electricity bill or upload an image/PDF of the bill for automated matching.
Does it cost anything to participate in the Championship?
No. You can register for the Championship for free using the welcome points credited to your account upon signing up at zenith.solabrix.com. For SolarSaathi members, SGC entry is automatically included every month at no charge.
When are rankings updated?
Generation Scores and leaderboard rankings are computed and refreshed at the end of every calendar month, once the full month’s generation records and utility billing cycles close.
What should I do if my plant receives a low score or poor rank?
Don’t worry—knowing is the first step toward fixing it.
A low score means your investment is underperforming and leaking money every sunny day. From your dashboard, you can check whether neighbors in your area saw a similar dip (weather) or whether your plant alone dropped (fault/soiling). If it's an isolated issue, you can immediately book a Single Module Wash, Site Visit, or Plant Audit with verified local technicians.
Are my private details or exact address displayed publicly?
No. The public leaderboard only displays your chosen plant name, plant capacity (kWp), general locality (e.g., Kothrud, Pune), and your Generation Score. Your consumer number, phone number, exact address, and electrical bills are kept strictly confidential.
